Originally
built by the Gamble family as a home, this
lodge holds 200 years of rich history within its walls. It has recently
undergone a complete restoration, including all hardwood floors and
walls on
the inside to cypress wood siding surrounding the outside. For a
personal
touch there are black and white restored family photos and original
farming
tools mounted on the walls. Gathering together
after a successful hunt is always enjoyable in the main area with
vaulted
ceilings, leather sofas and a gas fireplace. Scenic porches overlook
35 acres of flooded timber and a 10 acre duck
pond, which is why we have named the lodge “The Duck Inn”. This 3,500 square-foot
5 bedrooms lodge was recently
remodeled to accommodate 13 quests with its authentic bunk beds
constructed of wood harvested off the plantation. The lodge is also available for rent for events and functions.
